Generell information about Cookies

Cookies are data records that are stored in the browser's database. For example, user identification numbers are stored here, which are transmitted to the user's computer when the website is used and managed there. The data records are kept there for later access. Typical uses of cookies include language selection, consent documentation or user authentication.

Types of Cookies

First-Party-Cookies

First-party cookies are set by the website you visit and can only be read by that website.

Third-Party-Cookies

Third-party cookies are cookies from a third-party domain that are part of the website. For example, the website may use a third-party analytics service provider that sets its own cookie to perform that service. For example, a website you visit may also contain content from YouTube or Google Maps, which may set their own third-party cookies.

Session Cookies

Session cookies are stored for the duration of a website visit and deleted when the browser is closed. For example, they ensure that media can be played, your user input is temporarily stored during the input time and thus user-friendliness is improved.

Persistent cookies

Persistent cookies remain on your device even after you close your browser. These cookies can, for example, save your user preferences, such as language settings, and analyze user behavior on websites. The storage period of persistent cookies is determined individually for each cookie. They are deleted after the period has expired.

Categories of Cookies

The different types of cookies can be categorised as follows:

Technically necessary cookies (essential cookies): These cookies are necessary for the website to work and are usually only set when you perform certain actions, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms.

Functional cookies / personalization: These cookies allow the website to offer enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third parties whose services we have added to our website. If you do not accept these cookies, some or all of these services may not work.
